Hi James, I’m not sure where on Substack I can send you a PM but I have a question for you. I’m on Blue Pool Road and there are road works right outside my residential building for the past 5 nights. They start work only at 8pm (???) and go on till past 1am (!!). The noise level is unacceptable, and I am wondering if you can point out to me where I can complain? Thanks for your help.
Hi Denvy, for PM reply to the newsletter email and I'll get it (or email me on james@transitjam.com).
Those Blue Pool Road roadworks going on until 9 Feb, according to Transport Dept, and re: noise there's not much can be done except complain. Generally, Highways/Water prefer to do this noisy stuff at night to avoid interrupting car traffic, it's a totally batshit priority IMHO given how many residents will be kept awake. Road drilling generally not covered by the noise ordinances. Worth bringing up with the new District Councillors to give them something to do, they technically sign off on most road diversions/closures (they used to, anyway). Good luck-- I totally sympathise, we had this issue on and off for six months on Bonham Road after a burst water pipe and then they fixed it so badly they needed to dig it up about six times, each repair taking about four nights~~~

Thank you SO much, James! This is very helpful. I’ll be emailing the district Councillors every day till they stop this nonsense
